WartaBulukumba - Kanjuruhan tragedy in Indonesia! Hundreds of supporters died and two of them were police officers.

Kanjuruhan Stadium was tense, inside and outside the stadium, which was located in the city of Malang. Tear gas was fired repeatedly by police officers to dispel a number of supporters who were advancing.

The fans' riots that broke out at the Kanjuruhan Stadium in Malang after the derby match between Arema FC and Persebaya Surabaya resulted in the deaths of 127 supporters and 180 others who had to be hospitalized.

"127 people have died, two of them members of the National Police," said the East Java Regional Police Chief, Inspector General of Police Nico Afinta, as reported by PMJ News on Sunday, October 2, 2022.

Nico explained that as many as 34 people were reported to have died at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang Regency, while the rest died while receiving help at a number of local hospitals.

Nico further added that until now there are at least 180 people who are still undergoing treatment in a number of hospitals. In addition to the death toll, 13 vehicles were also damaged, including 10 belonging to the National Police.
